Product Information

Made in the United Kingdom using reclaimed scaffold boards and British steel.

  • Tops: premium reclaimed scaffold boards, approximately 38mm thick — full of character (expect historic marks like nail holes and saw lines), sanded smooth for daily use.
  • Sizes: three-board (660mm) or four-board (880mm) widths; standard height ~740mm; custom dimensions and a bespoke cutting service available.
  • Finish options: sanded and sealed with oil to bring out the grain; stains include Farmhouse, Light Walnut, Light Oak, Walnut, Charcoal.
  • Steel bases: fabricated in-house from heavy-gauge British steel, welded and wire-brushed by hand, then protected with a durable clear lacquer that preserves the raw industrial look.
  • Floor protection: plastic end caps included; optional felt pads for extra grip and fine-tuned levelling.
  • Provenance: handmade in South Wales, UK, using locally sourced materials wherever possible — never mass-produced.

We proudly support local suppliers and uphold the quality, integrity, and craftsmanship that define our work.

Considerations

Our reclaimed scaffold boards are sealed with a commercial-grade furniture oil to protect and enhance the natural grain. As with all solid wood, character and colour will naturally vary.

Natural Variations

  • Every board is unique — expect variation in colour, texture, and grain pattern.
  • Reclaimed wood may show small cracks, splits, shakes, dents or dings — these add authenticity and charm.
  • Minor twist, cupping, or bowing can occur as the timber acclimatises to your home environment.

Colour & Finish

  • Stain absorption varies by board, so colours may appear slightly lighter or darker than examples.
  • On-screen appearance can differ due to device brightness and contrast, though we aim to represent finishes accurately in our photographs.

Assembly

Your table arrives in three or four solid boards unless you have selected our jointing service or have contacted us with specific requirements, with the metal legs packaged separately for easy transport and access into your home.

Assembly

  • Place the boards upside down on a clean, flat surface.
  • Attach the legs using the included fixings.
  • Turn the table over carefully (two people recommended for larger sizes).
  • An electric screwdriver speeds things up, but hand tools work too.
  • You can re-space the boards later to tweak the look or accommodate natural wood movement.

Care & Maintenance

All of our furniture is finished with a durable two-stage protection system — commercial-grade hardwax oil followed by Fiddes Supreme Wax — designed to protect the timber and enhance its natural grain and colour.

To keep your furniture looking its best:

  • Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately.
  • Avoid harsh cleaners, silicone sprays or multi-surface polishes, as these can damage the protective finish.
  • Keep furniture away from direct heat sources such as radiators or stoves, and avoid prolonged exposure to strong sunlight, which can cause natural fading.
  • For reclaimed timber, light re-waxing once or twice a year will help maintain its rich tone and water resistance.

Please note that solid wood naturally moves as it acclimatises to your home environment. Small movement marks or hairline cracks may appear over time — this is completely normal and part of the material’s authentic character.
