Chunk Monkey at the Wales Airshow 2025

Chunk Monkey at the Wales Airshow – A Fantastic Weekend in Swansea.

This past weekend, Chunk Monkey was thrilled to be part of the Wales Airshow in Swansea. Against a backdrop of roaring jet engines, community spirit and some typically Welsh weather, we had the chance to showcase a selection of our handmade rustic industrial furniture, meet plenty of new faces and enjoy one of the best events on the local calendar.

Although we brought along some of our signature inflatable bananas (thank you to everyone who took one home), the main attraction on our stand was, of course, our Chunk Monkey furniture – each piece handmade and built with care to last a lifetime.

Weathering the Weekend

A huge well done to the organisers and display teams for keeping the show going despite the challenging conditions — Saturday brought some rain, and Sunday came with gusty winds, but the performances still went ahead and were thoroughly enjoyed by all. Hats off as well to everyone who braved the elements to come out and support the event. Your enthusiasm made the weekend.

New Furniture on Display

We were especially excited to introduce our latest design: the Extremely Chunky dining table, finished in a warm Fiddes farmhouse stain. This solid, standout piece combines traditional rustic charm with lasting industrial strength and was a real talking point at our stand.

It featured our brand-new ChunkPin legs, shown in their chunkiest form – with a robust 30mm cross-section – offering both durability and impact. The response was overwhelmingly positive, and it’s clear this new design is going to be a favourite.

A Show to Remember

The Red Arrows wowed the crowds with their precision, while the Typhoon display filled the Swansea skies with unforgettable energy. It was a real pleasure to be part of such a well-supported event that brought together locals and visitors alike.

As furniture makers in Swansea, we love having the chance to meet people face-to-face and talk about the materials, techniques and care that go into each and every piece we build.
