Get ready, chunky-furniture fans - Chunk Monkey, your go-to handmade furniture store nestled in Sandfields, Swansea, is making waves again!
On Saturday 16th August, we’ll be returning with flair to the much-loved Mumbles Raft Race, and of course, our beloved 10-foot fibreglass monkey will be aboard for this buoyant adventure.
A Splash for a Cause
The Mumbles Raft Race returns to Knab Rock this summer, in full support of the RNLI, the lifesaving charity we hold close to our hearts. This annual event is a vibrant staple of the community calendar, drawing imaginative raft designs and friendly competition to Swansea Bay. Building on last year’s success, where over £10,000 was raised in total, we’re aiming even higher in 2025.
Chunk Monkey Makes a Splash
If you were in attendance last year then you will know what to expect, but incase you weren’t… we will be bringing our beloved mascot Chunk, the giant 10-foot fibreglass monkey, on board the raft and to the sea for round two!

Whether you’re building your own raft, cheering from the shore, or just soaking in those Visit Swansea Bay summer vibes, the raft race is a memorable day for all. With the brand-new Mumbles Promenade, viewing the action is more enjoyable than ever!
